Meet The Rising Stars, Part 7 & 8

October 13, 2025, The Association

Introducing the latest additions to this star-studded lineup of emerging leaders

The Association’s President & CEO, Jim Tedford, recently asked executive leaders in the field to bring their rising stars along with them to The Annual Conference next month. When an executive leader nominates a member (or in this case, members!) of their team, the emerging leaders will receive a 50% discount on registration. We were thoroughly inspired by the responses that Jim received, and thought you would be, too.

Dre Davis, Animal Care & Behavior Manager
Ja’Donnesha Ballard, Cattery & Medical Manager
Southern Pines Animal Shelter

Nominated by: Amanda Paris

I nominated Dre and Ja’Donnesha because they’re both new managers at my organization who’ve shown an eagerness to grow and learn.

I found The Association’s conferece very helpful when I was a new manager in this field, and I think it will be a great opportunity for Dre and Jay to engage with other animal welfare leaders and learn valuable skills.

Amanda Paris, Shelter Director, Southern Pines Animal Shelter
