Does your organization have a DEI policy? Here’s an example statement of intent from your colleagues in the field

According to the 2023 Compensation & Benefits Benchmarking Study, more than half of participating organizations—52 percent—reported that they do not have a clearly articulated DEI policy.

If you’re working to create or update your organization’s DEI policy, you may wish to take a look at Toronto Humane’s DEI Statement of Intent. Shared on their website, the one-page statement covers why DEI is important; Toronto Humane’s approach to overcoming challenges; simple and clear definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and includes links to downloadable plans and progress reports.
