The Golden Beagle Award Is Open for Entries
Your innovative, impactful program to help large dogs could earn you a $20K grant
MetLife Pet Insurance, in collaboration with The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, has launched the first-ever Golden Beagle Award. This inaugural program will honor one outstanding animal welfare organization whose programs or policies have made a dynamic impact in addressing the challenges of helping large dogs.
“We know that larger dogs often face longer stays in shelters and lower adoption rates than smaller dogs, which can affect their physical and mental health,” says The Association’s Pres & CEO Jim Tedford. We can’t wait to see the creative solutions you’ve come up to address these challenges—from adoption processes and foster programs to intake diversion and behavior & enrichment.
Entering is easy. On the submission form, you’ll be asked to explain in 50 – 500 words how your organization demonstrates innovation and impact in finding solutions to the specific challenges facing large dogs (defined as 50 lbs. and up). The winning organization will receive a $20,000 grant, to be announced and awarded at The 2024 Annual Conference in New Orleans this November. Note, the submission window is just two weeks, and entries close on Thursday, August 15.
