Congratulations to the Round 1 winners of The Association’s Shelter Showdown, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim

Wave your hands in the air for:

• Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley

These six agencies’ essays have won them a sports-themed pet playpen, which they can utilize as a fun feature and engaging element to help the dogs and cats in their care find new homes.

As you read this, the winners are busy creating short videos showing their pet playpens in action. The videos will be posted for viewing and Public’s Choice voting October 21-25. The top vote-getter will earn a trip to The Association’s 2022 Fall Conference in New Orleans and $1,000 toward a shelter event and celebration.

The winners will be working hard to engage their communities to garner votes, and you’ll have a chance to support your colleagues and cast your votes as well. Stay tuned—we’ll remind you when Round 2 of the Shelter Showdown has begun. And a round of thanks to all the agencies that entered!
