All the feels, people, all the feels! Announcing the winners of the 2024 Wagsies Awards, The Golden Beagle and The Shelter Shape Up

Earlier this week at The Annual Conference in New Orleans, we celebrated the compelling work of organizations all across the US and Canada. We were thrilled to announce the winners the 2024 Wagsies Awards, brought to you by Hill’s; The Golden Beagle Award, presented by MetLife Pet Insurance, and The Association’s Shelter Shape Up, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim. Paws up, raise a glass, and let’s hear it for your colleagues in the field.

The 2024 Wagsies Animal Welfare Video Awards

Now in their third year, The Wagsies award program honors outstanding marketing, promotional and storytelling videos created to help pets in need.

This year, Peterborough Humane was awarded $20,000 for The People’s Choice Award and Best PSA for “Never Too Late,” and APA Adoption Center’s “Beware of Bullies” was awarded $10,000 as runner up for The People’s Choice Award and named Funniest Video.

The Golden Beagle Award

Brought to you by MetLife Pet Insurance, the first-ever Golden Beagle Award honors one outstanding animal welfare organization whose programs or policies have made a dynamic impact in addressing the challenges of helping large dogs.

The winning organization, Mr. Bones and Co., New York, NY, will receive a $20,000 grant.

The Association’s Shelter Shape Up

The grand prize winner will receive a shelter renovation project valued at $50,000 and 1,000 doses of NexGard®PLUS, while the first-prize winning organizations will each receive a shelter construction consultation, a $7,500 cash grant to be applied to their project, and 1,000 doses of NexGard® PLUS. Seven second-prize winning organizations will each win 1,000 doses of NexGard® PLUS.
