Letter from the President: The Band Is Getting Back Together

August 15, 2023, Jim Tedford

Your personal invite from The Association’s President & CEO

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

The band is getting back together!  OK, not a literal band, but our merry band of animal welfare professionals. Registration is officially open for The Association’s Annual Conference 2023, so you can now register, book that hotel room if you haven’t already (don’t make the rookie mistake of waiting until rooms are sold out) and make plans to join hundreds of your peers in Portland, Oregon, this November 15-17, for world-class learning and networking opportunities.

And have we got a deal for you…. Brand new this year, we’re offering a bundled registration rate for those of you who are not yet members.  Your bundled rate will include one year of membership, so you can find out first-hand—and in person—all the benefits of being a member of The Association. And FYI, the non-member registration rate is unchanged from last year, even with the bonus of a one-year membership.

And there’s more.  Animal Welfare Professional members who register for the conference are invited to bring one non-member at a 25% discount.  Introduce a colleague to this amazing group of leaders, ensure they become a member, and help them save money doing it.

Animal welfare professionals regularly share feedback after the conference about how inspired they were by the excellent professional development and networking opportunities.  And they leave wanting more—so we’re giving that to you. All conference attendees, like all members, will enjoy discounts on more professional development, partner discounts, free job postings, and have access to The Network, our online members-only community, for continued connection with colleagues. See all the benes here.

The Conference embodies The Association’s mission statement: to champion, advance, and unify the animal welfare profession.  What better way to LIVE our mission than to invite those invested in our conference to become full members?

Can’t wait to learn, network and have some fun with you in Portland in November.

Until then—all the best,

Jim
