Call To Action: Take the 2024 DEI Survey
Are we making progress as a profession? Participate now to make your voice heard and be part of the solution
It’s been three years since The Association’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee launched the first-of-its-kind survey in 2021. More than 2,600 of you responded, allowing us to establish an initial baseline to identify inequities and disparities in the animal welfare profession.
Since then, many of you have undergone training, raised your awareness, and developed and worked plans and programs to increase DEI in your orgs and communities, and it’s time to reassess. How are we doing? To answer this question, The Association is conducting the 2024 DEI Survey now through April 21, thanks to support from our sponsor, Adopt a Pet.
“Our mission is to connect hopeful pet parents, shelters, rescues and rehomers—so more pets can find their people,” shares Adopt a Pet’s CEO, Jeannine Taaffe. “We are steadfastly committed to improving the adoption process for all involved, and The Association’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Survey helps to bring that purpose to life.”
This year, we’re aiming for 5,200 responses. The survey will be open through Sunday, April 21, but we encourage you to take it now so you don’t forget. Plan on about 15 minutes. We’ll be talking about the survey a lot over the next several weeks, and you can learn more here in the meantime.
