Doing DEI work? Here’s one tool to assess the impact.

We know many of your organizations have been hard at work to increase diversity within your walls, and to make your communities—and the animal welfare profession—more equitable and inclusive. But how can you tell if it’s working or not?

MSM Global’s Maria Morukian, a facilitator, coach and consultant who guides The Association’s DEI efforts, recommends that organizations consider using the GDEIB (Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmarks) tool to measure the impact of their DEI work.

The tool outlines 275 benchmarks in four groups and 15 categories. Each category is divided into 5 levels, ranging from 5, where little work is being done, to best practices. Here’s a sample of a few best-practices benchmarks.
