Looking to start, ramp up or promote your doggy day-out program? As we know, animal welfare is one sector where ideas are generously shared—so we wanted to pass on some inspo and info from your colleagues in the field.

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh has done a stellar job of designing and presenting their Barks & Rec program. From the easy-to-grok numbered list of how the program works and a well-organized FAQ to a feed featuring photos of past participants, the marketing materials on their website are top-notch.

We especially love this instructional video for potential volunteers. In just two minutes, they tackle volunteer training and ground rules, while sharing fun footage of the program in action. It’s friendly and inviting and, most importantly, makes it so easy to volunteer and become involved.

Got a similar program at your shelter? Feel free to leave a comment and share your promotional materials and tips.
